About the Designer
My name is Mari. I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. As a young girl I could always be found entering craft contests, and everybody knew art was going to be the passion of my life.
At age 24 I bought a flower shop and found my destiny. I had 25 years of following my customers' lives. I sent their first date flowers, then their wedding flowers, then came the first born flowers, a few I'm sorry flowers, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. They weren't just customers, they were my friends and I so enjoyed making their lives brighter with my art.
After selling the flower shop I am newly married to a wonderful man, Roger, and now live in the country. Horses, chickens, a whole new life to me.
My wonderful sign business came about when I needed a gift for my friend's house warming. While at a major store trying to find a little message sign for her I struggled with what to pick. One had an OK message but was not a color match to her house or personality. So began Charming Signs. From my barn I dragged an old wood hay plank into my art studio and started to cut and sand, paint and glaze. Now I have hundreds of beautiful signs made from reclaimed wood. You pick the color, you pick any message you want or write your own, add names, add dates--just have fun creating your perfect sign. I even put a charm bracelet on the handle so you can adorn it with charms to match the personality of the person you are giving the sign to. Picking my business name was easy "Charming Signs" -- a charm bracelet handle on a perfect little sign.
